Homeroom Studio Team Romy Danker Averil Foggin Anne Aquilina

The studio’s discerning approach is fuelled by Romy’s cultivated eye, appreciation for craftsmanship and local makers, and curiosity for new ways of seeing, informed by years of travel and time spent abroad, including countless trips to Milan Design Week. The team’s background in commercial and hospitality design also gives Homeroom Studio the breadth of perspective to intuitively design to different needs, lifestyles and ways of living, across Australia and internationally.

Rather than prescribing an aesthetic, the studio uncovers what’s most relevant to each client, home, and setting and weaves them into a cohesive story. Be it a coastal villa, countryside weekender, a heritage conversion or a family’s inner-city home, Homeroom Studio is constantly in search of what elevates a project beyond the expected.

What Homeroom Studio’s projects do share is a sensitivity to history, light, outlook and movement, accentuated by clean lines and precise joinery. Encouraging outward connection but inward calm and composure, every home uses rich, natural materials generously and honestly. Believing less always says more, furniture, objects and art are introduced for their proportionality, longevity, and provenance, and the beauty of being collected over time.
