ABOUT        INERTIA SCULPTURE

Endeavouring to embody movement within a solid form, Inertia was envisioned by Homeroom Studio in collaboration with Lump Sculpture Studio. Designed to sit within a courtyard at Ivory House, the sculpture is representative of one of the fundamental principles in physics - Inertia is the tendency of an object to remain in its current state of motion or rest unless acted upon by an external force.

The sculpture was conceived with the intention of introducing movement into an otherwise stagnant location – the ball appears to move along the c-shaped spine, rising and falling. Sitting on a bed of softly flowing greenery, Inertia is a distinct piece placed perfectly adjacent to the entry of the Ivory House.
